Is a Belarusian fiction and script writer, journalist and TV anchor. His books have been translated into 16 languages. He has received the Russian Award, and the Yasnaya Polyana Literary Award. He was also shortlisted for the Big Book award. In 2021, PEN International declared Filipenko a victim of censorship.
